Chelonistele sulphurea is a species found in the Philippines, Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Malaysia. In the wild this species inhabits wet hill and montane forest at elevations between 600-2,700 metres. The inflorescences measure 20cm and bear up to 15 flowers that each measure 2.5cm across. The flowers are scented and the plants bloom in the spring.
This plant is flowering size. Grow Chelonistele sulphurea in a pot, in shade and with a lot of water year round. This species is suited to an intermediate to cool greenhouse. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is a difference between day and night temperatures and that air circulation is sufficient.
